Tony Doran GAA Quiz 2018 Report
21/01/2018
The annual Tony Doran GAA Table Quiz took place in the Buffers Alley clubhouse last Thursday night . Despite the inclement weather, the Quiz once again attracted a huge turnout with 29 tables in total.
Question Master, Tony Doran had his usual library of questions with a few brain teasers scattered every few rounds to test the memory of the participants. Approaching the final round there were a number of teams in contention to take the winners spot, however, Tony introduced some of his stiff questions to challenge the top tables. After 8 rounds it was the team from the Pike Bar in Wexford town who topped the leader board - well done to Trevor Doocey; Barry Sinnott; Joe Cummins and Louis Rafter . These men have been great supporters of this Quiz and are to be congratulated on their winning formula. Coming in a close second were Ed Rowesome; Fergal Maguire; Robbie Donnelly and Michael Rowesome. With little dividing the top 3, the third place winners were Michael Verney; Colin Breen; Darragh Butler and Brian Coughlan.
A big thank you to everyone who supported the Quiz from all corners of Wexford and further afield and to all the sponsors - to Pettitts Supervalu and Upton Court for the vouchers for the winners; to Connolly Red Mills and John Hearne of Top Tyres for the spot prizes. Also, to the many local businesses and club people who contributed prizes for the raffle.
Raffle Prize winners: Robbie Donnelly; Donal Hayden; Mary Alice Murphy, Artie Gahan; Siun O'Mahony; Noelle Doran; Bobby Kenny; Seán Murphy and Andy Kenny.
