Thompson Byrne claimed top prize in a keenly contested final table at this year’s Poker Classic that was held in Buffers Alley on Wednesday last. 

The final result was very much in doubt until a late run of winning hands by Thompson edged out Mick Butler and Tom Breen. 

The final placings were Thompson Byrne, Mick Butler, Tom Breen, Jimmy Kennedy Jnr, Nellie Farrell and Paul Doran. Jimmy Doyle was the first with a Poker and there was no Straight Flush or Royal Flush.

Séan Kavanagh won the Door Prize which was kindly sponsored by Hammels, Centra, Kilmuckridge.

The Committee would like to Brendan Roche and Shay Hammel for their support in organising the event and all the club members who helped in running the Classic especially MC Ben Martin. 

We would also like to wish Jimmy Kennedy Snr., who is in hospital at the moment, a speedy recovery.
