Buffers Alley Poker Classic

This year’s Poker Classic will take place Wednesday 27th December at 8pm in the Buffers Alley Clubhouse.


Tickets, €20, are now on sale from club members and can also be purchased at the door on the night. Refreshments will be served and the bar will be running promotions for the players on the night. The Door Prize is being kindly sponsored by Hammell’s Centra Kilmuckridge.


Nearly eighty players took part last year with a prize pot of over €1500.  Mick Lacey emerged as the overall winner and all the players who made the final table will receive complimentary entry.  The final placings were Mick Lacey, Tom Byrne, Jack Kavanagh, Larry Murphy, Gavin O’Donovan and David Hughes Snr. Other prize winners were Jim Conroy first poker and Ciarán Fortune had the first straight flush.


A great night of cards is guaranteed and your support is very much appreciated.


Tony Doran Book Signing

Tony Doran will be in attendance in Buffers Alley on Fri. night 8th December from 7pm. to 9.30pm. to sign copies of his recently launched autobiography, Land of Giants and Men in conjunction with a club Coffee Evening


Annual General Meeting

The adult club's Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday, 9th December at 7.45pm. in the clubhouse. It is important that all members and players make a special effort to attend this important meeting.  Annual General Meetings are the platform where decisions are made for the coming year and this year is particularly important as changes to fixtures at county level at taken place and will be implanted for 2018. The deceased members of the club will be remembered at the 6pm. Mass in Monamolin on the same night. The following evening, Sunday 9th December the Camogie Club will hold their AGM at 4pm. in the clubhouse.


Coffee Evening/Medal Presentation

The Club will hold a Coffee Evening in the clubhouse on Friday 8th December from 7pm. to 9.30pm. Come along, bring your friends and have an enjoyable few hours.  The U14 footballers will also receive their county medals on the same night.


Club Draw

 Fundraising/Social Events 

The club is hosting a number of fundraising/social events in the coming weeks. The Golf Classic will take place on Friday 29th December, please book your time with Murt Managan. Tony Doran will once again host his GAA Quiz in the clubhouse on Thursday, 18th January. A Club lunch will also take place in January with details to be confirmed.
