How to Set Up IPTV on Android TV & Google TV

Before You Start

This guide works for TVs and boxes running Android TV or Google TV, including Sony, Philips, TCL and Hisense TVs, the Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV and Nvidia Shield. You'll just need your login details from WhatsApp.

1. Install TiviMate from Google Play

   TiviMate is the best-looking IPTV player for the big screen, with a superb TV guide.

   1. Open the Google Play Store on your TV (or say "Open Play Store" to Google Assistant).
   2. Search for TiviMate and select Install.
   3. Open TiviMate once it has installed.
   Prefer something simpler? IPTV Smarters Pro also works well on Android TV where it's available in the Play Store.

2. Add your IPTV Éire playlist

   1. Select Add playlist, then choose Xtream Codes.
   2. Enter the server address we sent you, then your username and password.
   3. Select Next, name the playlist "IPTV Éire" and select Done.
   Typing on a TV is slow. Use the Google TV app on your phone as a keyboard.

3. Load the TV guide (EPG)

   TiviMate loads the guide automatically after your playlist.

   1. If it's missing, go to Settings › EPG and select Update EPG.
   2. Restart TiviMate once the update completes.

4. Optional: unlock TiviMate Premium

   TiviMate's free version works, but features such as multiple playlists, favourites management and catch-up need Premium.

   1. Premium is bought from the developer through the TiviMate Companion app on your phone.
   2. Sign in to the same account inside TiviMate to activate it.
   The Premium fee goes to the app developer and is separate from your IPTV subscription.

Tips for the Best Picture

• Use Ethernet where possible. Many Android TV boxes and TVs have a port.
• Set the display to match your TV (4K or 1080p) in your device's display settings.
• Clear the app cache occasionally in Settings › Apps › TiviMate › Clear cache.
• Try the other decoder in TiviMate's playback settings if a channel stutters.
