Notes week ending 3rd April 2021   01/04/2021

Membership

Following the recent Government announcement, underage players may return to train (pods of 15) on 26th April and we would like to remind families and adult players that membership is now due. All membership details are available via our ClubForce Online Payment System which has proven very popular with those who have already submitted their membership or club draw payments for 2021.  A receipt is issued once payment is submitted and your details will be entered on the new nationwide GAA Foireann System which all players must be registered on going forward.

Non-player membership can be activated at any stage of the year and we are delighted to welcome new members, the cost is €30 per person or €50 for a couple.

Bingo Going Forward

Thanks to all who have joined us on the Buffers Alley Bingo journey which has allowed us to continue with developing our club facilities. With no training or activities until 26th April (underage pod training only), it has been decided to run with the Bingo for 4 more weeks with a big Finale (joined with Blackwater and Kilcotty Bingo groups) on May Bank Holiday weekend (massive prizes on offer). For that Finale you can purchase books from all or any of the 3 Bingos.  Bingo will then close for the summer with Buffers Alley returning to their regular Fri. slot in the Autumn when we hope to merge clubhouse and online Bingo. Updated details on BiP in the Autumn. Thank you again for all your support.

Community Walking Track

Our newly extended (1.2km) walking track is lit up to 10pm. seven days of the week and is a great asset to the local area. This latest community facility offers a safe area to exercise, whether it be walking, jogging or running.  Only Guide or Assistive Dogs are allowed. Currently the clubs pitches are out of bounds and will remain so until such time as the GAA gives us the green light to move forward.  Please adhere to the Government and GAA regulations and continue to observe social distancing.

Sympathy

This week the club members were saddened to hear of the sad passing of their club officer and mentor, Ger Hendrick, RIP. Deepest sympathy to his wife Michelle, their children Liam, Ciarán and Martin and the wider Mangan and Hendrick families. Ar Dheis dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Club Memorabilia

The club is currently looking for local newspapers or photographs covering the years 1971-1975.  Asking everyone associated with Buffers Alley to have a look in albums, attics, etc. Send a text to Mary 087 1955152, all papers will be returned within a short period.
