Thousandaire Press Release February 2020   28/02/2020

Buffers Alley launched their major fundraiser - Who Wants to be a Thousandaire

Buffers Alley GAA & Camogie clubs launched the nationwide show "Who wants to be a Thousandaire" in The Crosses, Kilmuckridge on Wednesday night last.

With just four weeks to go till the big Quiz hits the stage in the Upton Court Hotel on Saturday 14th March, tickets are in big demand and are great value at €20 each or a discounted family ticket  €50.

Chairperson of Buffers Alley, Cate Donohoe welcomed everyone to the Launch and thanked the hardworking Thousandaire Committee who have given their time and effort selflessly for the past couple of months under the direction of Colm Hearne, the driving force behind this project.

She thanked our main exhibitors, many of whom were present for the launch and also our advertisers who continue to come on board to support Buffers Alley GAA Club in this venture. “As well as the night being a fundraiser for the club, it promises to be a great family night out for the whole community with 8 contestants getting the chance to play for the top prize of €1000”

For the Launch night, Cate was delighted to welcome Wexford senior hurlers Conor McDonald and Shaun Murphy from our neighbouring clubs Naomh  Éanna and Oulart-The Ballagh along with our own Ross Donohoe who all had the night off training to lend a hand with the Launch.

Behind every good Launch is a good venue, and as usual Nicky and Frances Hammel of The Crosses pulled out all the stops to ensure that the audience were well looked after during proceedings.  Cate concluded with a word of thanks to Nicky and a reminder that ‘Who Wants to be a Thousandaire’ takes place on Saturday, March 14th with many side attractions in addition to the Quiz. During the interval, a raffle and auction will take place and with Rob & Mono booked for the music, there is no need to go home early!

Tickets are expected to sell out in advance of this most entertaining and fun-filled show and people are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.

Tom Shanahan of Pallas who are marketing this show with Buffers Alley paid special thanks to the hard working committee for all their help en route to the Launch and said if any company wished to to support the event to contact the club by emailing buffersallley1000aire@gamil.com before Fri. 28th February.

Roll on St. Patrick’s weekend.
