Notes week ending 12th June 2020   12/06/2020

Walking Track
The recently upgraded and extended walking track around the perimeters of the three pitches in Buffers Alley is back up and running for four hours per day under supervision.
Until Phase 3 on 29th June, the gates will open for walking on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings and evenings. The opening times will be mornings 10-12 and evenings 7-9. The first hour each day will be designated for elderly/vulnerable club members as per guidelines. Club Volunteers will be on duty and will ask you to walk in one direction only and to remember that the walking track is the only facility that will be open each day. We’re looking forward to getting things moving again and having our pitches available for training groups from June 29th. Also going forward from the 29th the walking track access will be extended.
Membership is now open to new members. If you have already subscribed for 2020 to the player, family or social membership your walking fee is included. For all those subscribing for the first time, social membership for 2020 is €30 or €50 for a couple. This facility will be lit up in the coming months and is a welcome addition to all those wishing to exercise in a safe environment. A big thank you to all the volunteers who made this happen.
If you have not subscribed yet for 2020 you can or pay online at ClubForce http://clubforce.com/clubs/gaa-buff or dowmoad the ClubForce App. Alternatively contact Chairperson Cate Donohoe on 086 8382566.

Club Monthly Draw
The June club monthly draw will take place on Thursday 27th June. If you need to bring your accounts up to date, you may give your subscription to your promoter or pay online through ClubForce.

Charity Fundraiser

On Sat. 20th & Sun. 21st June Buffers Alley will hold a club based charity fundraiser where all players, members (present & past) families of underage and supporters are encouraged to commit to doing a run/walk/cycle in their Buffers Alley colours (if possible) to complete a virtual 'Trip to Croker' together. The hope is that altogether as a club we will cover over 1,300km. This distance is the equivalent of 6 trips up and back to Croke Park, a fitting reminder of our club's achievement of winning 6 All-Ireland Club Finals: 1 Hurling, 5 Camogie.
We would ask everyone to text on their kilometres on the day and send in pictures of their activity in Alley gear for social media while observing social distancing.
Most importantly there will be a donation Go Fund Me page set up & all funds raised will go towards two charities: our local based branch of St. Vincent de Paul (St. Machain, Kilmuckridge & Monamolin) and the Mental Health Association Aware. Families could incorporate this fundraiser into celebrating Father’s Day. All support greatly appreciated.
